Continuing professional development is essential for police officers. Specialist further training can be completed in various areas such as criminalistics, traffic, psychology, etc.
With the National Police, further training in the following special areas is possible depending on the skills required:
The Intervention unit is deployed in high-risk operations. The grenadiers main area of responsibility consists of personal protection (government guests and royalty), property protection, the arrest of violent criminals and counter-terrorism. The grenadiers regularly undergo intensive special training.
The main task of the Observation unit is to monitor people, groups of people, objects, etc.
The Alpine Police are responsible for the police investigation of accidents in alpine terrain. Examples of this are mountain, aviation or avalanche accidents, where special alpine knowledge is required. There is close cooperation with the mountain rescue service.
